Central Station is a station on the LRT system (Route 201) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is operated by the Edmonton Transit System, and was one of the original five stations when the line opened on April 22, 1978.[1] When the LRT opened, Central Station was the original terminus at the south end of the line.
It is in the downtown core beneath Jasper Avenue between 100 Street and 101 Street. It is located between Churchill Station and Bay Station Station. There is direct underground access to Telus Plaza and Commerce Place from the station (which themselves are connected to other commercial centres via the pedway system).
ETS once operated a Transit Information kiosk at 100A Street and Jasper Avenue, above the station; however, it has since been relocated to Churchill Station. The building now serves as an entrance for users requiring an elevator to get to the station platform.
