Centerville is a city in Houston County, Georgia, United States. The city is in the Macon metropolitan area. It was incorporated March 25, 1958. The population was 4,278 at the 2000 census. The 2003 estimate put the population at 5,268 and the 2007 population estimate put it at 6,448 people. The town along with many suburban areas in the United States is seeing unprecedented growth in population. It used to be a bedroom community for the growing Warner Robins. The town is currently working to develop a type of downtown area. The plans include a double building road with buildings at both sides, street lamps, plants and flowers, fountains and much more. The town is trying to attract specialty stores to that area.

Contrary to popular belief, Centerville owes its name not to its geographical position within the state of Georgia, but its position between Byron and Wellston (now Warner Robins). It is also midway between Perry and Macon, Georgia.

The city is home to the Galleria Mall, the largest mall in the Warner Robins area and the second largest in the Macon metropolitan area, after the Macon Mall. There are over 50 stores and its anchors are Sears and Belk's. The city is also home to many other shopping centers. There is Lowes, Starbucks, 1 Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Toys R' Us and many other big box retailers. Also, in construction is Best Buy and some other retail stores that have yet to post or announce their coming to the community.

Centerville is located at 32°37′56″N, 83°40′41″W (32.632111, -83.677950)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km²), all of it land.

It is connected to the city of Warner Robins although it wasn't always like that. They were once separate. As Warner Robins grew westward, Centerville was swallowed. It is now completely surrounded by the city of Warner Robins. The city along with Warner Robins continues to annex land and expand westwards towards I-75.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,278 people, 1,595 households, and 1,248 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,526.4 people per square mile (589.9/km²). There were 1,687 housing units at an average density of 601.9/sq mi (232.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 83.94% White, 11.17% African American, 0.37% Native American, 1.71% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 1.01% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.06% of the population.

There were 1,595 households out of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 12.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% were non-families. 17.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.5% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.7 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $46,797, and the median income for a family was $52,554. Males had a median income of $36,731 versus $26,406 for females. The per capita income for the city was $20,434. About 5.1% of families and 7.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.6% of those under age 18 and 3.1% of those age 65 or over.
