Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho. Although the school is located in Boise, it is separated by the Meridian School District in nearby Meridian, Idaho. The school opened in 1987 and serves neighborhoods in western Boise and Meridian.

Centennial High School students have posted above average scores on the SAT and ACT than the Idaho average. The school offers Advanced Placement courses in several subjects including Chemistry, Calculus, English, U.S. History,Environmental Science and Japanese.

Between 1988 and 2006 Centennial Patriots sports teams won state championships in football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, cross country, and track and field. Centennial's achievements include the 2003-04 football season where they had a record of 12-0, and 2007 State Wresting Championship. [1] The Centennial High school lacrosse team has also claimed the Treasure Valley Lacrosse League title three years in a row with an undefeated record of 17-0 in 2008.

The Centennial High Marching Band has won the sweepstakes award at the District III Marching Festival eleven times. Centennial has a Symphonic band consisting of students the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, a concert band consisting of 9th graders and a Jazz Ensemble consisting of members of the Symphonic band that have completed an audition. They also have an all volunteer pep band that plays at basketball games.

Centennials chamber orchestra has only the best players of the school and has won many awards throut the years. The students switch off being concert master which hives them an equal oppurtunity to learn to lead an orchester.Students who want to play more music with other advanced players join this orchestra.


The Patriot student body also has access to a released-time seminary program which gives them the opportunity to study religious topics away from the campus during the school day. They are known for receiving their instruction from instructors within the Educational System of Churches.

The Centennial Drama Department, known as the Image Factory, has won the state Drama competition the last six years running, and District competition ten years in a row. Image Factory does an average of 3 plays a year, and a school wide musical every other year Their next project is Flowers for Algernon which will be playing in The Centennial Performing Arts Center the second and third weeks of May.

The school's Sweet Liberty Dance Team is a three-time national champion (2004, 2005 and 2006). Centennial also has a strong marching band and Color Guard program which won the local District III marching competition 12 years in a row and many other awards throughout the Northwest. Centennial has also won multiple state championships in academic decathlon, and yearbook competitions. The yearbook took 4th in nationals in its division. The school newspaper is the Patriot Ledger, which is a member of the High School National Ad Network. The Patriot Ledger also won the Best of Show Award at the IJAA (Idaho Journalism Advisers Association) competition in 2007.

Centennial's local rival is Eagle High School, located in nearby Eagle. Eagle is a fairly new school (first year was 1995, replacing the older rival, Meridian High School).
