Cemmaes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cemmaes is a village in Mid-Wales at the south of Gwynedd. The Welsh name is Aberangell, which comes from Aber - confluence and Angell - the name of the river.

The population numbered 935 in 1841, this dropped sharply between 1881 and 1891 from 946 to 729.[1]

There was a train station in the village which connected the Mawddwy Railway to the main Cambrian Line. The Hendre-Ddu Tramway also connected to the railway at the village.
