As of December 2006, there was no bank or ATM in CelestĂșn (despite what you might read in published travel guides). Internet access is available in only a couple of locations (including the Hotel Maria del Carmen, 1.5 blocks south of the main square along the beach). There is also a PEMEX gas station in Celestun, a pharmacy (at the north end of the town square) and a very rudimentary clinic for medical emergencies (a more modern clinic can be found in the town of Kinchil, while the nearest true hospital is located in the capital city of Merida).
