Celtic pub
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Celtic pub is a public house which has an expressed or tacit affiliation to Celtic Football Club. Generally this affiliation takes the form of its clientele being supporters of that football side and the bar being full of them on days when matches are being shown on television, though many pubs also have official supporters' buses organised which take fans to games.
The highest concentration of Celtic pubs occur in and around the Barrowlands/Gallowgate area of Glasgow (near Celtic Park) and famous Celtic pubs in this area include Bairds, The Hoops Bar and Bar 67. The Brazen Head is another famous Celtic pub, but this is in the South Side of Glasgow. Celtic pubs can also be found throughout the world, due to Celtic's vast support, in places such as England, Ireland, mainland Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. Most Celtic pubs will inturn have its own Celtic Supporters Club, such as the Manhattan No. 1 Celtic Supporters Club based in Jack Dempsey's pub in Manhattan, New York.
