CELESTIAL ECHOES, meaning "Heavenly or Divine Reflection of Sound Waves", was organized on November 1982 by young music lovers from the southern part of the Philippines who were mainly students of Philippine Union College (now Adventist University of the Philippines) under the leadership of Ms. Leonabelle P. Elumir-Berdida. The purpose of organizing this group was to strengthen good fellowship with other musically talented students taking different courses with one common goal: to improve their musical abilities and to honor and glorify God, as well as being able to spread the gospel of God's love through songs of praise. Furthermore, fervent and consistent prayers has been one major factor that has strengthened this group through the years and for always.
Last October-November 2000, the group was chosen to be the official singing group to assist the religious crusade of Mark Finley (ACTS 2000) in Tokyo, Japan. The group just released an album entitled A CAPELLA last summer (2004) and presently an active member of the Madz Et. Al. ( a network of choral groups and musical talents directed by members and alumni of the Philippine Madrigal Singers). All these achievements under the directorship of Warlito S. Yalung.
The group, since its organization, has sung and performed in religious and Gala Concerts around the major cities in the Philippines. Major concerts include performances at Metropolitan Theater, Phil-Am Life Theater, PICC mini-theater, and CCP Main theater.
Through these performances, many have been inspired by the group's repertoire which gives them a distinct musical presentation at all times.
