[edit] Fictional character history
Celeste was originally introduced in April 1994 as Stefano DiMera's confidante and former lover, at the Maison Blanche plantation in New Orleans. Celeste was a Creole woman whose past was originally shrouded in much secrecy. Later, it was revealed that Celeste was Lexie Carver's "Aunt Frankie," and it wasn't until 1996 that Lexie found out that Celeste was her mother, and that she was adopted by her "Aunt Frankie's" sister Grace. She was raised by Grace as she and her husband could not conceive children and did not believe Celeste (at that time known as Franchesca) to be a good influence for the baby.
Since then, Celeste has largely reformed and stayed out of Stefano's grip, but falls back from time to time due to her psychic abilities, and is very much in demand to help solve police cases. Currently Celeste is working with EJ Wells, as she believes he holds the key to Celeste reuniting with her daughter Lexie. In reality, Andre DiMera is the key to Lexie's disappearance.
