Talk:Cefalexin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is possibly misspelled - I have a pill bottle right here that says "cephalexin" on it. Kat, Queen of Typos 00:20, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Nope, "cefalexin" is the International Nonproprietary Name. "Cephalexin" isn't a misspelling either: it's the United States Adopted Name. Feel free to check those articles if you'd like to know more. Fvasconcellos 00:26, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] IUPAC Name and Structure
I believe the stereochemistry at the NH2 is inverted and should match the name
(6R,7R)-7-{[(2R)-2-amino-2-phenylacetyl]amino}-3-methyl-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChemSpiderMan (talk • contribs) 01:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- It does match the name—all-R. What am I missing? Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:56, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, confirmed...the structure is correct. The name needs updating to include the stereochemistry though.--ChemSpiderMan (talk) 02:36, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Done, thanks for checking! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:49, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
