CEFOR

The Central Union of Marine Underwriters (CEFOR) was founded August 15, 1911 by Norwegian and foreign insurance companies and is the marine insurance market organization of Norway.

The members of CEFOR engage in hull and machinery insurance (blue water and coastal), protection and indemnity insurance, cargo insurance, legal defence and war risks.

The object of CEFOR is to strengthen and develop the basic concepts of the Norwegian marine insurance market and unite and coordinate its members around key issues for the marine insurance industry.

Eligible members are Nordic insurance companies engaged in the said branches of insurance pursuant to the legislation pertaining to insurance companies in the Nordic country where the company has its head office or foreign insurance companies engaged in the said branches of insurance in Norway pursuant to the Act on Insurance Activity of 10 June 1988 or Management companies for such insurance companies.
