[edit] Infobox
There is a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Clinical_medicine#Infobox_Help about an infobox format for hospitals, and Template:Hospital is being tested/demonstrated on this page. It may change over the next few days, so if you have any comments on what standard fields should be included, or how it should be formatted, your comments are welcome, and your patience is appreciated. --Arcadian 03:01, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Celebrities
I question the need to list: a) celebrity patients b) their maladies LorenzoB 18:57, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
This is NOT an article listing famous patients of Cedars-Sinai. If you want to do that, create a separate list. Thanks. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 23:30, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Celebrities Seconded
This article is barely more than a trivia list of celebrities. In addition, there's a bulleted list and another paragraph above listing yet more names -- some of which are duplicated. There is very little other info in the article about the actual hospital. The article is little more that gossip. It is E! tabloid trash - perfect for Wikiality, but would never fit into a real encyclopedia - or any other publication of any note. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.140.187 (talk) 01:24, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Needs a lot of work
This article has the following problems:
1) As stated above, the article does little more than list all the celebrities who have received care there. This is not relevant or important. A blurb stating that many celebrities have received care at Cedars-Sinai would be more than enough...perhaps you could list two or three. But that's all that's needed.
2) There is little important information about the hospital, and what little substance is there, is not cited well. Additional inline citations, along with additional, verifiable sources, are needed.
3) The article, in its current state, is also not much more than an advertisement for the hospital (albeit a very poor one).
4) Without sufficent citations, it appears that much of the article is based on original research, which violates Wikipedia policies.
5) The article needs to be cleaned up per Wikipedia standards, and really needs to be expanded. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 09:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I deleted the list of celebrities and made mention of the fact that they have treated many celebrities over the years earlier in the article. Much more encyclopedic. If someone could add a citation for this claim, it would be even better. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 09:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Religious Background
Please, pardon me but would it be so wrong to have some of the hospital's Jewish heritage mentioned, or at least the allusions its Biblical namesakes cast? Thecurran (talk) 00:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with that, as long as it doesn't go overboard, follows Wikipedia's policies on requiring a neutral point of view and has sufficient, verifiable inline citations -- Gmatsuda (talk) 01:49, 13 January 2008 (UTC).
- How about something like... According to the Hebrew Bible, the Cedar of Lebanon was used to build King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and the Biblical Mount Sinai was where Moses received the Ten Commandments. ...? The article already points out the amalgamation of "Cedars of Lebanon" and "Mount Sinai".--Thecurran (talk) 00:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] This is not an article about celebrities
It seems that there are a lot of people who are only interested in making this an article about what celebrities have been treated at Cedars-Sinai, and about which ones are most popular and should be the ones listed.
Keep in mind that this article is about CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER. It is NOT about any particular celebrity. Moreover, for the few celebrities who are listed, they should show how Cedars-Sinai has treated celebrities for many, many years. A recent edit replaced all the celebrities with ones who are popular now, which is a totally ridiculous edit. Of course, I don't expect any of the people who have been making such edits to care, or to even read this, for that matter. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 01:54, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
