The Cedar Park Entertainment Center is a 6,800-seat multi-purpose arena being constructed in the Austin suburb of Cedar Park, Texas. It opens in late 2009 at the corner of 183A and New Hope Road.
The primary tenant will be the Texas Stars ice hockey team of the American Hockey League.[1][2] The af2 Austin Wranglers are also considering playing in the arena.[3]
The city of Cedar Park will own the event center, and has partnered with Dallas-based Hicks Sports Marketing to develop an adjacent tract into a 182,000 SF retail and office complex. Their affiliate, Center Operating Group, will manage, book, and staff the event center. Hicks Sports Marketing will assume the operating risk of the arena.[4]
