Album Cover MULTIPLICATION by Teacher and the Rockbots
[edit] Fair use in Teacher and the Rockbots
Although the picture is subject to copyright I (User:Cynrin) feel and assert that it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- The image is a low resolution copy of a CD album cover.
- The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the CDs in any way.
- The image's inclusion in the article is important because it illustrates content discussed in the text.
- The image's use is commensurate with usage throughout discographies and album listings across the world wide web.
- The image is being used for informational purposes only.
- The image's low resolution means copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the album artwork on a CD.
[edit] Licensing
This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
