Image:CD-07 City of Denver.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Union Pacific Railroad diesel-electric streamliner CD-07, one of three City of Denver trainsets, photographed near Henderson, Colorado, July 1, 1952 by Otto Perry. In this photo, only eight months from withdrawal and a year from scrapping, the train is in its final configuration.

The train appears to lean forward because of the upward-travelling focal plane shutter on Perry's camera.

Fair use is claimed for this image within the articles on the train equipment (M-10003-6) and the train service (City of Denver) in that it illustrates an artifact (the train) no longer in existence, in its historical context. No new images of this train can be created. Use of this image in Wikipedia does not damage the commercial prospects for this image, since the copyright holder (the Denver Public Library) already permits it to be used without fee on non-commercial websites for educational purposes such as this. The resolution is not sufficient for print publication, either. No free alternative is available nor could one be created.
