De-templatising emptied stub categories
I beg your pardon, I missed your comment until I was closing the discussion. To be candid, I don't really know what the basis for Grutness's comment (now here), and subsequent SFDing was. If we have a clear practice on this, it's a mystery to me. My own attitude would be to keep any reasonable-looking template unless its scope, name or wording was actively confusing, basically because I see "deleting things to stop people using them" as being likely to be highly frustrating to anyone so "forced", and so liable to be counter-productive in the long run. Perhaps I'll bring this up at WT:SFD. Alai 22:42, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Urbepedia invitation
Hi!
my name is Meutia Chaerani from Singapore. I volunteered helped out in the Urbepedia at Urbepedia. It is a newly set up wiki focusing on Urban issues, and currently needing more contributors. I'd like to invite your participation in the wiki. Also need to brainstorm more on how the Urbepedia can be different yet complementing to information already existing in Wikipedia.
At this stage, i'm thinking that Urbepedia would be more detailed and more technical, and also acts as repository of best urban practices from around the world, as well as repository of contact information of urban experts. Whereas wikipedia is aimed for a broader audience, the article should be easy to grasp to different kind of people, from kids to adults. In that sense, urbepedia is different from wikipedia, but of course, we can link both wikipedia and urbepedia together in the article page.
We hope that you'd be interested to get involved.

Stub sorting
Hi. Thanks for helping out with stub sorting. You should know, though, that you've twice attempted to put the Zip Feed Tower article into a nonexistent stub. You may wish to review you contributions for similar errors. - EurekaLott 22:33, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Stub Sorting
Hi CComMack,
I noticed you've been sorting some of the United States sports venue stubs. First I wanted to say I really do appreciate you helping. I am, however, going through all the US states alphabetically (I've now sorted all states through New Jersey) and sorting the sports venue stubs in them with AWB. I have to run all articles in the categories through AWB even if they're already sorted. So unfortunately if you're going through the articles alphabetically that doesn't really save me any time.
It would, however, be great if you could go through the United States airport stubs double stubbing them with the state-struct-stub templates. That would be more productive than each of us going through all of the articles.--Carabinieri 22:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Your edit to New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad
The software does not properly create a thumbnail, and so the full-size image is being resized via HTML. This causes my browser to freeze for about a minute whenever I load the page, and it continues to be sluggish until I go to another page. --NE2 17:57, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
If you put a colon before "Image:", it won't inline the image (the same works for categories). That's a good idea. --NE2 18:14, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Stub Sorting
Hi CComMack,
Just wanted to let you know that the US airport stubs are now completely double stubbed.
BTW, the following states are viable for de-upmerging: Louisiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. I would do it myself but I probably won't get around to doing it for another week or so. So if you feel like it go ahead.
Thanks,
--Carabinieri 12:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks; sorry I didn't contribute very much to the tagging effort, but between helping WP:TWP with a new template implementation, and doing some geotagging with/for the new Google Earth tie-in, my stub-sorting efforts have been suffering lately. Still, I'll see what I can do about those newly-viable state cats. —CComMack (t–c) 08:33, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's no problem you didn't contribute more. If I get around to it I'll probably also take care of those cats, but it'll probably take a while.--Carabinieri 15:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Reverting an edit an then telling others not to revert without discussing is hypocritical. Anyway, I feel the field should stay because any complete perfect article would include this information; we don't know what our readers want. Besides, having an optional param is harmless. -- Selmo (talk) 03:58, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

DE in South?
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm going to update the South to reflect that, because it appears that they forgot to add those states and I based my changes on that. Sorry about the change, but thaks again for letting me know. Do you want me to go back and fix those edits I made, or is it handled? EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 13:35, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
John Lester, Bart King, et all
Thanks for the encouragement in the Philadelphians, I've been working on. It might be a good idea to rework the rating criteria for Top Importance articles at WP:PHL. Your assessment page says that a Top Importance article is "...a 'core' or 'key' topic for Philadelphia, or is generally notable to people other than students of Philadelphia." For someone like me, who has only been to Philly once and doesn't care all that much for things Philadelphian (aside from cricket), that puts it in Top Importance. Just a thought.--Eva bd 14:23, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

- PS-If you think the Lester article is good, maybe you could review it for its Good Article nomination. You might also want to look at (and rate) George Patterson (cricketer). Thanks.--Eva bd 14:26, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

You've expressed an interest in the upcoming New York City Meetup for Saturday, November 3. I'd like to update you on an important change of schedule.
- It's been agreed that we should have a 2-hour formal meeting period to start organizing meta:Wikimedia New York City, and this will be held at the Pacific Library (note this is different from the Brooklyn Central Library, which was discussed earlier) from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
This will be in addition to the previously scheduled roving activities at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (this activity has also been cut short a bit) and at the Brooklyn Museum. For full details, see Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC. Ask any questions at Wikipedia talk:Meetup/NYC. Thank you.--Pharos 21:29, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
