[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Stereokilleralexa.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Stereokilleralexa.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Tim 19:42, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re your message

I have not removed any links you posted. I have however tagged an image you uploaded as having no source, simply because it has no source. Please provide source information and refrain from removing the notices as you did here: [1] --Tim 19:52, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

To follow up my last message, just to let you know I have nominated the page you created (Pahardcore.com/Stereokiller.com - hardcore/emo/metal/hip hop/underground music community) for deletion here. --Tim 19:59, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 20:17, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Okay. After all, I am not deleting the article about the website itself. But you don't have to add a link to the site to every remotely related article. For details, see Wikipedia:External links.
Thank you. Regards, Mike Rosoft 20:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
    • In fact, I only removed the link from the disambiguation page where it doesn't belong. I'll leave it on other users whether it is appropriate in other articles. It is the advantage (and the curse) of Wikipedia that next to anybody may edit articles. Regarding the technical details, I am afraid I can't help you; you may want to ask at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). - Mike Rosoft 20:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/StereoKiller

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. Srose (talk) 14:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I understand that it kind of stinks to have all of your hard work undermined and deleted. It is pretty discouraging. However, these editors are basing their arguments for the deletion of your article based on Wikipedia policies and guidelines. To see them, click on the following links: WP:WEB and WP:NOT. We do not doubt the validity of your website, but we do doubt that it's worthy of its own article. Perhaps when it becomes popular enough to satisfy the guidelines laid out at WP:WEB, you or someone else may recreate the article. Srose (talk) 14:32, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
    • If you can link to the CDs that you mentioned on the AfD's page, that could be a huge help. Trust me, I understand how difficult it is to run a nonprofit website - I ran one for six years. However, MySpace is not notable due to the "money" you claim it has; it's notable because of the enormous amount of (largely negative) press coverage. Please also sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~) on my talk page so I know who to reply to; that makes it much quicker for me. :) Srose (talk) 14:41, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Whyjoin_profiles.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Whyjoin_profiles.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 00:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
