Cazenove (ward)

Cazenove is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and the area forms part of the Hackney North and Stoke Newington constituency. Its named dervives from the Cazenove Road which runs through the ward.
The area is bounded by Upper Clapton to the east, Stamford Hill to the north, Stoke Newington to the west and Stoke Newington Common to the south. It is roughly one third Orthodox Jewish, one third Muslim and one third Christian.
The ward returns three councillors to Hackney London Borough Council, with elections every four years. At the previous election on 4 May, 2006 Ian Sharer, Dawood Akhoon and Joseph Stauber all Liberal Democrats candidates, were returned but since then Councillor Joseph Stauber has crossed the floor and joined the Labour Party.
