Cawthron

Cawthron (formerly the Cawthron Institute) is a scientific research institute based in Nelson, New Zealand.
Cawthron provides research based science services focused on the sustainable management and development of New Zealand's natural resources.
Established by a bequest from Thomas Cawthron in 1919, the organisation’s activities must benefit the Nelson region and the nation. Governed by a Board of Trustees, Cawthron has approximately 180 scientific and technical staff based in Nelson and Marlborough.
