Cauto Cristo is a municipality and city in the Granma Province of Cuba. It is located on the banks of the Cauto River, in the western part of the province, bordering the province of Holguin.

In 2004, the municipality of Cauto Cristo had a population of 21,159.[2] With a total area of 550 km² (212.4 sq mi),[1] it has a population density of 38.5/km² (99.7/sq mi).
