CatoNovus was chosen because of my last name, Caton(pronounced with long A and sharp T sounds), as an homage to ancestors. Cato is the Latin word for "sagacity", meaning practical wisdom or common sense. Novus is the Latin word for "new". This is a bit of a pun(albeit a horrible one, but those are the most fun) dealing with the the most famous Cato's in history, ancient Romans Marcus Portius Cato the Elder and Marcus Portius Cato the Younger.

Whether or not I am of direct or indirect lineage to these two men, I take this name to honor them. Honestly, after two thousand years, its unlikely that I(or even the random passerby) am not related to these men.

I am self-admittedly intelligent, although I will not go out of my way to state it. I simply put it here so that you know I know I am somewhat smart. I am also a smartass, and I do go out of my way to demonstrate that, which is evidenced by the previous sentence. CatoNovus 06:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
