Talk:Catullus 49
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This needs some categories added eventually. Additionally, the title could do with changing to Catullus 49, because I've realised that other poets wrote Carmina between 48 and 50. Hooroo Kenneth Charles 00:29, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Translation of "nepotum"
The first two lines of the translation read:
Most eloquent descendent of Romulus, [of] as many as there are and as many as there have been, Marcus Tullius,
However, I believe "nepotum" is genitive plural, not nominative singular, which would be translated "of the descendents." And if so, that might eliminate the necessity of the insertion of [of].
Hope that helps!
