Talk:Catherine Tyldesley

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Within seconds of posting this article, quite well-reseached, an editor deleted it as 'blatant advertising'. It is no such thing. Severla other lead actors in the BBC TV series have Wikipedia entries. The tone is neutral enough. Even where I cited a claimed 'good ear for accents' I used the expression 'reputedly'. Of course, all Wikipedia entries are subject to editing and revision but to delete it out of hand is dramatic and excessive.

This modest and uncontroversial little article seems to be experiencing a difficult birth. Assuming good faith on the part of the previous editor I have included the references where the facts came from in the reference section and removed the infobox relating to ‘unverifiable sources’ (sic). The only other matter that seems to be contended is whether 10 episodes of a prime-time BBC series as one of the leads would qualify a person for notability. (An entry in IMDB doesn’t, of course.) I understand the objection and it’s a fine point but I think it just about does, particularly in view of the fact that such TV appearances are not the only ones this actress has made. I’ve read, though I haven’t included it in the article, that this actress is currently filming another major role for the BBC in a series ‘Miss Florence’. I didn’t include it as there was only sketchy information about it. I’ve left off the link to the agency which an unforgiving editor could consider linkspam (a new term for me) even though it wasn’t intended as such, as it seems to duplicate information available elsewhere.
