I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but locals refer to this cathedral as "Our Lady of Maytag", a reference to the similarities between the cathedral's shape and the agitator in a top-loading washing machine. Eganio 21:56, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

This used to be on the page and certainly deserves a mention. I know SF residents who don't even know the real name of the church! Philosophygeek (talk) 22:57, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
