Catty Cornered is a 1953 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Friz Freleng and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It features Sylvester and Tweety in a forerunner of the Rocky and Mugsy cartoons, with Rocky having present-day form and manners. Tweety is in even more peril than usual, as a potential meal and a hostage.
Some people believe that the mayor who honors Sylvester at the end is a caricature of former New York City mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia. Others say that he's drawn from Warner's cartoon producer Edward Selzer.[citation needed]
Part of this cartoon was edited into Friz Freleng's Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie.
