Catholic University of the North (UCN) is a university in Chile. It is part of the Chilean Traditional Universities. It is located in Antofagasta, Chile. Universidad Católica del Norte was founded on May 31, 1956. The current rector is Misael Camus Ibacache. La Universidad Católica del Norte has 6 faculties, 17 departments, 6 schools, 3 institutes and 5 investigation centres in 4 campuses: the headquarters in Antofagasta, campus Guayacán in Coquimbo, Museum and investigation centre in San Pedro de Atacama and in Sierra Vicuña Mackenna, Taltal.
