The Catholic Club is one of Bangalore's oldest associations primarily for Catholic members of the Bangalore society (although nowadays the club does admit non-Catholics as well). It is located on Museum Road and provides members with a host of recreational facilities such as a library, billiards room, cards, badminton, squash and swimming. Catholic Club is most notable for its popular dances which happen year round. The Christmas cake and wine dance is the most famous of these, with the club being packed to capacity with revellers during the Christmas and new year season. Much of the clubs old architecture has been torn down to make way for new buildings due to the dearth of space in the club.
