Catherynne M. Valente

Catherynne M. Valente (born May 5, 1979, Seattle, Washington) is an American poet, novelist and literary critic. Her writing tends to be postmodern, with rich language (drawing upon her Classics education) and surrealist elements. She has also ventured into a more mainstream style with her series of original fairy tales, The Orphan's Tales.
