Catherine Taylor-Dawson

Catherine Taylor-Dawson (born 1979 or 1980) is an English musician and model who set a new record after polling just a single vote in the Cardiff North constituency for the Vote For Yourself Rainbow Dream Ticket party in the United Kingdom 2005 Parliamentary Election.

Taylor-Dawson is from Wilmslow, Cheshire. She is a singer/songwriter musician by trade and plays both guitar and piano and has done some modelling. She became involved in the Vote For Yourself Rainbow Dream Ticket Party after being asked to write songs for that party by its leader, Rainbow George Weiss.

At 2005 Parliamentary Election she stood in each of four Cardiff constituencies, receiving 37, 79 and 167 votes in Cardiff Central, Cardiff South and Penarth and Cardiff West respectively. She lost each of her £500 deposits, having been given the £2,000 to stand by Weiss. At the declaration of the result she sang and played her guitar rather than making a speech.

The single vote in Cardiff North was not cast by Taylor-Dawson, as she was not registered to vote in that constituency. Like all candidates for Parliament, however, she would have to have been nominated by ten registered voters in the Cardiff North constituency in order to contest the election.
