The Cathedral & John Connon School was formed in 1922, as a 'grand alliance' of the Cathedral Boys', Girls' schools of Mumbai, and the Scottish schools of the city. The earliest of its components was a Cathedral grammar school founded in 1860. It is affiliated with the CISCE board (Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations) of the Indian Government. This council administers the annual ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination) and ISC (Indian Secondary Certificate) examinations which are at the end of the 10th and 12th standard.
