The book project is nominated for several awards in both writing style and for subject matter. Jones also tours the country, and offers workshops on this topic using humor.

Another book, CelebRatties[5], demonstrates the history of rodents in film, television, literature, and video work from the years 1900 to 2005. Mrs. Jones also published eleven chapbooks, including DeepNDarkNBlue, which allowed her the opportunity to tour the United States and Canada by invitation, to read passages. The spoken tours lasted from 1985-1990, and led to radio shows syndicated in California, Illinois, New York, and Florida.

As an Ahmanson Scholar, while in California Institute of the Arts, Cathe Jones created the animated film Revelation/Transition, which received awards from several university film festivals for the sensitive, yet demonstrative work relating to death, and family loss.
