Cathal brugha water polo

The Cathal Brugha water polo club was formed in 1932 and based in the old Falls Baths on the Falls Road, Belfast. Originally as a unit of teaching local children to swim. This soon developed into competition swimming. Other Ulster and Irish swimming titles were won before the club began almost exclusively on Water Polo. Cathal Brugha has won every Irish title, at all levels, including a double in the Women's senior Cup in 2002 and 2003!! (thats lies about 'every Irish title', we've won about 2)

The club fields teams (boys & girls) at under 14 , 16, 19 and senior level. In 2005 the club won the u16 Irish cup and the top scorer award was given to stio mcmahon who is now a key player in the Ireland line up. The squad fields 5 male Irish internationals from the age groups below senior level
