Catena

The word catena (often with Latin-type plural catenae) has various meanings:
- It is the Latin word for "chain".
- A sequence of soil profiles along a hillslope.[1]
- A chain of similarly sized impact craters, in planetary geology.
- The Counts of Catena is a title held by certain members of the Maltese nobility.
- The Catena is a prayer said daily by members of the Legion of Mary. It consists mainly of the Magnificat.
- A collection of commentaries on Bible books.
- The International Masonic Union Catena, a masonic organization.
- A prefix used in inorganic chemical nomenclature to indicate a chain structure.[2]
- An anthropomorphic web comic "Catena" by artist Tracy Bailey.
