Akodon leucolimnaeus (Cabrera, 1926) |
The Catamarca Akodont (Akodon leucolimnaeus) is a species of rodent in the Cricetidae family. It is found in northwest Argentina.
This mouse-like creature has gone through many changes in its classification. Originally believed to be A. boliviensis, it was reassigned as a subspecies of Necromys lactens in 1932 by Gyldenstolpe then moved to the genus Bolomys by Reig in 1987 and is currently provisionally listed as a separate species of Akodon. Since this provisional listing in 1995 by Galliari and PardiƱas no further diagnoses have been performed.[1]
