User:Castanea dentata

A Chestnut.
A Chestnut.

Hello and welcome!

On 2006-03-28 13:53:24, I was given the nickname Cestus. After careful consideration I have decided to accept it. Since there is no user by that name, I have incorporated it into my signature to set precedence of me using it.

Castanea dentata, is the American Chestnut tree that was on the brink of extinction due to an Asian blight, but which is now making a comeback. "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" refers to this tree, which once dominated the eastern half of North America. The name reflects my love of the great outdoors and an abiding enthusiasm for chivalry and all that implies.

I have a couple graduate degrees from hither and yon and I know a handful of languages ancient and modern.

Lately at Wikipedia, I am focusing on religious topics. My combination of traditional values and intellectual progressivism, I hope, keep me to the standards of NPOV.

I enjoy a low profile here, yet while cutting back blight I hope to bring forth some showy green leaves.
