Perhaps Dr Aidan MacCarthy should have a page to himself, rather than being an ever-increasing part of this page...

[edit] Ronan O'Connor

Who is/was Ronan O'Connor? What does the meaning of his first name have to do with anything? Are you trying to say that seals visit Castletown Bere? If so there are less crypic ways

"Castletownbere is also the hometown of the infamous exile Ronan O'Connor who visits on a regular basis.
Ronan is a Celtic name of Irish origin meaning 'little seal'. (Rón meaning seal, and Án being a dimunitive suffix)."

[edit] The Castletownbere Crest

I was looking up my home town and was amused to find out that we have a town crest published on the site, i find this hysterical because i took a closer look and saw that the crest is actually that of Cork County Council, and not Castletownbere. Castletowbere does not have a town council and therefore cannot have a crest. I hope this is corrected sometime soon. maybe upload a picture of the port or something. At any rate Happy St Paddys Day. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.142.227.135 (talk) 15:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC).

Somebody has put a stupid picture into the place where the crest should be.
