[edit] Biography

[edit] Early years

In the opening of film, Troy is shown attempting an assassination attempt on Sean Archer, his arch-nemesis at an amusement park. His assassination fails and he accidentally kills Michael, Archer's son.

[edit] Later years

Later in the film Castor plants a bomb at the LA Convention Center. He tries to leave town by airplane but fails when Archer and his men intervene and prevent him from leaving. He lands in the airfield, using a stewardess as a bullet shield. His younger brother, Pollux, a paranoid techno-genius ends up getting arrested by the FBI. Castor faces against Archer who is now obsessed with capturing and/or killing Troy and avenging the death of his son. The nihilistic Troy taunts Archer, saying that he doesn't fear death and singing "I'm ready for the big ride baby." He says that Archer obviously isn't having any fun and suggests that he join him and become a terrorist. Troy also reveals that he has placed a bomb somewhere in Los Angeles before being incapacitated by Archer and taken into hospital where MI6 keep him alive so that they can question him to find out the whereabouts of the bomb when he regains consciousness.

[edit] As Sean Archer

To find out Troy's plan, MI6 perform an operation in which they remove Troy and Archer's respective faces. Archer is given Troy's face and his bone and skin structure are altered to resemble Troy's so that he go to the secret prison where Castor's brother is being held and find out the whereabouts of the bomb. In the night Castor wakes up from his coma to find his face gone. Profoundly disturbed he contacts his minions and sends them to bring Malcolm Walsh, the doctor responsible for the operation, to get Archer's face. Castor, with Archer's face, visits Erehwon prison to meet Archer, who has Castor's face and reveals that he has killed the people who knew of Archer's mission. He later goes to Archer's home and manages to get the cigarettes from Archer's daughter, Jamie. Castor releases his brother, Pollux by making a deal for turning state's evidence. He manages to disable the bomb at the LA Convention Center. Castor seduces and makes love to Archer's wife, Eve. Ironically, given Castor's gregarious, irrevetant nature and offbeat sense of humour he actually becomes more popular at work that the real Archer was. Meanwhile Archer escapes from Erewhon and goes to the glamorous apartment of Castor's brother-in-law, Dietrich where he fools Dietrich along with some of Troy's associates into thinking that he is the real Castor Troy. He also makes love to Castor's girlfriend, Sasha and is horrified to discover that Troy has an infant son. Castor receives news by Pollux that Archer is at his apartment. With that, Castor sends the FBI to Dietrich's apartment to kill Archer. In the skirmish, Troy shoots Dietrich for failing him earlier in the film. Meanwhile Archer kills Pollux, leaving Castor distraught and almost suicidal. He is out to avenge his brother for the rest of the film. FBI Director Victor Lazaro was angered by the unnecessary carnage of "Archer's" battle with the terrorists. Castor kills him and makes it look like the old man just had a heart-attack. With Lazaro's death, Castor is the new FBI director.

[edit] Fight to the death

Castor confronts Archer at Lazaro's funeral. He tells Archer that Michael's death was accidental, as Castor only wanted Archer killed. A gunfight ensues during which Sasha and Castor's men are all killed. Castor escapes from Archer by taking Jamie captive but Jamie escapes by stabbing Castor in the leg with the knife that he ironically had given her earlier. Castor flees and Archer pursues him to the edge of a river where they do battle. Archer stabs Castor in the groin with a harpoon subdues the terrorist, attempting to shoot him with the harpoon gun but Castor grabs the harpoon before it can enter his body. Sneering, Castor tells Archer that when every time he looks at the mirror, he will him. The obviously insane Troy then begins to actually mutilate his face with a knife until Archer finally kills the madman by ramming the harpoon through his body, nailing him to a wall. Castor's last words were "I'm ready for the big ride, baby", echoeing his words earlier in the film.

[edit] Personality

Castor is portrayed as a pure sociopath. This is shown in his superficial charm, total lack of remorse and utter disregard for human life, even that of his wife and son's. He is also shown to be somewhat perverted and seems to have a lecherous desire toward Archer's daughter, Jamie. The only person besides himself he seems to care about is his brother, Pollux whom he is quite affectionate toward. Castor is quite a charismatic individual whose brash, gregarious nature earns him the liking of Archer's staff. He also seems to develop a protective instinct toward Jamie, saving her from a rapist and arming her with a knife to protect herself. This doesn't however stop him from holding a gun to her head later in the film.
