Castle College Nottingham is a British further education college located in Nottingham. It was formed on 1st June 2006 from the merger of Broxtowe College and The People's College Nottingham. It has a major presence in and around the city with 16 main campuses, including a brand-new automotive and engineering centre at the Highfields campus located on University Boulevard.

The College is an associate college of De Montfort, Nottingham Trent, Bedfordshire, Northampton and Derby Universities, providing opportunities to take Higher Education courses locally. It is also currently investing £85 million into improving facilities throughout its campuses, including a £35 million redevelopment of its flagship campus on Maid Marian Way.

The responsibility of the governing body is to determine the educational character of the college and to ensure its well-being and financial solvency.

The board of governors is drawn from the public and private sector, and each member brings with them significant expertise in one or more areas. Governors are drawn from the staff, student association, local employers and public authorities which provides the college with a rich mix of experience and views to guide the strategic management.

The city of Nottingham is regularly voted one of the country's favourite student destinations and with the wide range of facilities and attractions it is not difficult to see why.

Nottingham is situated in the centre of England with excellent transport links to other major cities including London. Transport within the city is excellent. Buses and trams run frequently to and from the city centre.

Visit Nottingham today and you'll find plenty of places to go and sites to see. It is known throughout the country as a great city for Shopping, Education, Night Life, Sport and History.

[edit] The People's Campus

Castle College's headquarters is located conveniently in Nottingham's City Centre on Maid Marian Way. Courses offered at the campus are Digital Technologies, Business & Travel, Management & Professional and Health & Medical Sciences.

The campus will be transformed by a £35 million redevelopment, which will provide Nottingham with world class skills, learning resources and the regional centre of excellence for Science, Technology & Engineering. The highly original new building will combine the College with shops, offices and flats which will complement its historic surroundings. Childcare provision is available at this centre.

[edit] Carlton Road Centre

The Carlton Road Campus is located just 15 minutes by bus from Nottingham City Centre, with a free shuttle bus service connecting it to Maid Marian Way. Courses offered at the campus are Childcare, Pre-Foundation Programmes, Health & Social Care, Media, Public Services & Sport. Carlton Road is also the site of the College's Football Development Centre, which is offered in association with Notts County FC. Childcare provision is available at this centre.

[edit] Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies

Confetti is a unique custom-designed facility in Nottingham City Centre specifically for students who wish to pursue careers in music technology and creative technologies. Courses are available in music technology, video production, animation and DJ skills, and there is an impressive array of commercial recording studios, pre-and post production editing suites and DJ suites, with equally impressive recording equipment and instruments. Cafe and library facilities are also available.

Courses are for anyone from school leavers to mature students, from absolute beginners to professionals and range from part-time short courses to full-time courses and from foundation to degree level.

The People First Centre on Alfreton Road in Nottingham is a dedicated centre for those who would like to take a College course but do not wish to study in a large College environment. Those aged 16-19 have the opportunity to take E2E and E4E courses.

[edit] London Road Construction and Technology Centre

The College's brand new Construction & Technology Centre is on London Road in Nottingham's City Centre, just a five minute walk from the train station, providing easy access to students from further afield. The large Centre has all the facilities you need if you wish to pursue a career in the Construction, Electrical Installation, Motor Vehicle, Engineering & Manufacturing industries. The impressive facilities include Motor Vehicle workshops, Plastering, Welding, Painting & Decorating, Site Joinery and Bricklaying workshops, as well as a cafe and library.

[edit] Highfields Automotive and Engineering Centre

The Highfields Automotive & Engineering Centre is located on University Boulevard. The Centre provides state of the art training for Automotive Technology and Engineering & Manufacture courses. Created in conjunction with Toyota, the Centre has ten fully fitted workshops, a car showroom and a state of the art learning resource centre.

The College's Beeston Campus is located on Chilwell's High Road, just a few minutes walk from Beeston town centre. The Campus is currently undergoing a dramatic transformation which will improve the learning experience for students. One old and out of date building will be replaced with a light, modern and accessible new College, with first class learning facilities including a new Science Wing, greatly improved artistic space for the thriving art department, Student Services, Library and Learning Resources Centre. Existing specialist facilities at the campus include state-of-the-art equipment for Music & Media courses and a replica air cabin for students studying Business & Travel. Other courses offered at the campus are A Levels, Access, Engineering, Pre-Foundation, Manufacturing & Electronics, Languages and Teacher Training.

[edit] Ellis Grove Construction Workshop

The Ellis Grove Construction Academy is just a 5 minute walk from the main Beeston Campus. Construction tutors with experience in the trade will provide you with all the training you need, for courses in Site Carpentry, Bricklaying and Plastering in purpose built facilities.

[edit] Skills for Life Academy

The Skills for Life Academy is also based at Ellis Grove in Beeston. Pre-Foundation and Pre-16 courses are offered at this site.

[edit] Middle Street Centre

The Middle Street Centre is located just a few minutes walk from Beeston Town Centre. English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and other courses designed for our large International student population are based here.

[edit] Arthur Mee Centre

The Arthur Mee Centre in Stapleford provides specialist facilities for students with learning disabilities and for those taking Art & Design, Childcare and Pre-Foundation Programmes. Childcare provision is available at this centre.

[edit] The Whiteley Mill

The Whiteley Mill in the centre of Stapleford provides state of the art facilities for students wishing to take Hair, Beauty and Holistic Therapies courses, all of which are open to the public. These facilities were officially opened in style in the summer of 2006, with a special fashion show attended by Twiggy from the Trent FM duo. Public Services, Health & Social Care and Plumbing courses are also based at this centre.

The Chewton Street Centre is in Eastwood, a five minute walk from the town centre. Courses which take place there are Pre-Foundation, Pre-16 and Community courses. The community courses available include Arts & Crafts, First Aid, Cake Decorating and Languages.

[edit] Eastwood Skills Shop

If you live in Eastwood and wish to take a course local to you, Eastwood Skills Shop is ideal for you. The centre itself is located on Eastwood's main Nottingham Road, and offers flexible IT courses and Community courses in subjects such as IT for Beginners, Arts & Crafts, Spanish and Interior Design.

[edit] Church Hill Centre

The Church Hill Centre is a specialist centre in the centre of Kimberley. Students under the age of 16 with challenging behaviour are given the opportunity to re-engage in learning.
