[edit] True Identity
His true identity is Bluebeard, a nobleman also known as Gille de Rais, who was once comrade-in-arms with Joan of Arc.
[edit] Role
Caster was summoned shortly before the fourth Holy Grail War began by Ryūnosuke Uryū, who murdered a family and using their blood as components in the summoning ritual. Like his Master, he has little remorse or sense of morality and neither have any interest in obtaining the Holy Grail. He believes in terrorizing his victims and offering them a brief moment of relief before killing them in a horrific way. Caster also uses his magic to warp and twist humans into contraptions for his Master's entertainment, such as turning a girl into a pipe organ.
Caster, aside from kidnapping and killing large numbers of children in gruesome ways, expresses an interest in Saber and initially appears to be quite familiar with how she came to ruin at the end of her life. In truth, it is because he has mistaken her for Jeanne D'Arc, whom he had been infatuated with.
