Castaños is a town in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila. It is located at 101° 25' 58" West, 26° 47 '3" North, in the state's central region (Región Centro). There were 22,401 inhabitants in 2000.
In 2003, there was a large fire that killed over 30 people in the local town hall. As to the town itself, it is small and has very little significance except that there was a rally some years ago against the government.
