Cast a Dark Shadow is a 1955 British suspense film directed by Lewis Gilbert. The black-and-white film was based on the play "Murder Mistaken" by Janet Green about a psychotic Bluebeard.

Edward "Teddy" Bare killed his first wife (making it look like an accident) hoping to claim her inheritance, only to discover she didn't have one. When another chance presents itself Bare begins planning killing his next wife. But murder second time round is a bit more difficult.
