The first Casa Mia opened in Chapel Alerton, Leeds in 1998 by Marta Mazzella and Francesco Mazzella when they purchased a small Italian coffee shop. A few months after the purchase the business started to become successful and had room for 64 people. six months later they increased to 140 with the extension a canapé and outside heating. This environment is very uncommon in Leeds , people from all over the city visit the Coffee Shop.

Within the same year as the Coffee Shop opening Marta Mazzella and Francesco Mazzella opened a new restaurant called Casa Mia Grande with room for 70 people, again in Chapel Allerton, Grande focuses on fine dining. The restaurants seating was expanded in 2000 to make room for 120 people.

In 2003, the Mazzella opened a bar right next door to Grande, Bar Ischia has become a popular venue for after work cocktails.

[edit] Casa Mia Millennium

Casa Mia Millennium was opened in July 2004. With a café bar, Millennium is based in the center of leeds in Millennium Square.
