Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 10:46, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit] WikiProject Spam

Your recent edits are being discussed here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spam#spam.jobs2web.com. Katr67 (talk) 19:50, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I blanked your uncivil words on Katr67's talk page. If you have a concern, find a better tone to bring it up in. One thing you may not be aware of: just because someone reverts your edits, does not mean they're gone forever. You can still find what you did in the "history" tab, explain to others why you think it's a good thing, etc. But ultimately, WP has rules about what can and can't be included, and you will need to respect the consensus of your colleagues if they disagree with you, and can back up their views with policy. I say this all without having reviewed your edits, so I have no opinion on whether they should be allowed to stand. I'm just here to urge you to be more collegial in how you address other editors. -Pete (talk) 21:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the message back. You are right, Wikipedia can be slow on certain things, and it can be difficult to get certain things done -- or impossible to get others done. Everybody can edit, but that's not a guarantee that anyone can put whatever they like on the site; far from it. Anyone can undo another person's edits, too. The best way to deal with what might otherwise be a totally chaotic situation is to work together, ask questions, and discuss things. Katr is not self-important, merely has a great deal of experience with what does and doesn't comply with WP policy. I'm sure she would be happy to explain her reasoning to you and perhaps offer alternatives -- I would too -- but nobody's going to be responsive to insult-laden messages in all caps here. We're all volunteers, and focus on work that is enjoyable, not subjecting ourselves to attacks. If you want to discuss the page in question on its talk page, I highly recommend it; but if the response is too slow or you don't have the patience, I'd suggest that maybe Wikipedia isn't the place for you, which is not the fault of the person who happened to be the first to revert your work. In short, I suggest: work with us, ask questions where you don't understand, and accept that you might not always get your way. -Pete (talk) 22:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Advertising

Wikipedia is not a free advertising forum. Re-adding your links is not a debatable discussion. I suggest that you move on. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:07, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your rant

Hi. Before you post more any rants (I'm sure you realize that typing in all caps is the equivalent of shouting) on my page or anywhere else, please take the time to read up on our external links policy, which you can find by clicking on the blue links in the messages above. Unfortunately, your behavior is that of spammer, and it is doubtful your links will be reinstated because another user has blacklisted them. Continuing to edit Wikipedia in this manner is only going to reflect badly on the companies that you represent. Perhaps you are adding these links out of the goodness of your heart, but I suspect you are getting paid to add links to Wikipedia. We do have a conflict of interest policy that I'd suggest you take a look at, and our business FAQ may also be helpful. I'm afraid you have misunderstood what Wikipedia is for and what it is not. I realize we have a lot of rules, but when several different editors keep reminding you of the same thing, it is very likely that your edits are not helping the project and that means you should stop and find out why. Good luck, and stay civil! Katr67 (talk) 22:34, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
