[edit] Image Tagging Image:Villanueva.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Villanueva.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:37, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Venezuela

I'm looking forward to create the Wikipedia:WikiProject Venezuela. I had the idea of creating it when I first made the portal. The project will have the main objective of centrating efforts into a more complete information and a higher quality of the articles in Wikipedia, other media in the sister projects, and the portal itself.

I have observed your good work with the Carlos Raúl Villanueva and the Universidad Central de Venezuela articles. So, the motif of my adress is to invite you to join into the list of interested wikipedians in order to improve the quality standars of articles relating to Venezuela and its history, subdivisions, culture, etc. If you are interested, go toWikipedia:Wikiproject/List_of_proposed_projects#Venezuela and list yourself.

Thanks.

--Alex Coiro 01:42, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

I just signed up. Thank you for the invitation!

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Escudo yaracuy.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Escudo yaracuy.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Tascon list

Hola ! I saw the link you added to Sumate about the Tascon list ... should we discuss that on the Sumate page, or elsewhere? If you can write up a paragraph about the situation, I can contribute -- but I've got too much travel going on to do any decent original writing myself ... jet lag catching me coming and going! Sandy 01:20, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

ah, I just found the writeup at Venezuelan recall referendum of 2004 ... can you add a description there of Comando Maisanta for the readers who may not know what that refers to ? Sandy 01:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Hola, Caracas ... I just did large copy edits on the articles on Tascon, so please have a look at them ... I don't believe I changed any content, only worked on the English. Let me know if I should look at any other pages! Sandy 13:34, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

All of our work on the Hugo Chávez article has been reverted. Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates/Hugo Chávez Sandy 23:38, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Where have you been? Bienvenido de regreso. There are some stunning entries about this entire debacle on my talk page. Do you plan to vote on the FARC? Sandy 17:58, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Sandy, I'm on a long trip so I'll be limited to very short edits, but I'll try to keep up with whats is going on. Keep on the good work. (Caracas1830 21:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC))
Thanks for letting me know ... buen viaje ! Sandy 09:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Consensus on Chávez

Caracas, when you have time, can you review developments on Talk:Hugo Chávez and let us know which version you think we should move forward with, considering that either version we pick will need work? Thanks ! Sandy 14:17, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Epa, Caracas, an update, since I know you're busy. The consensus seems to be to work on restoring the Dec 10 version, carefully merging content additions generated in the interim. I've created a [To Do List,] hoping to assure that we cover everything. Can you have a look when you have time? Saludos, Sandy 16:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Foreign policy refs

Epa! I'm beginning to complete the refs on Foreign policy of Hugo Chávez, using the URLs you provided: can you check the Libya section and see if I got them all right? I hope I didn't mix any of them up, or get the titles or dates wrong. I'm working my way up from there. Thanks ! Sandy 18:46, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

looks good to me! good job! (Caracas1830 22:07, 1 July 2006 (UTC))
epa, big problem and reverts over on Chavez as I am defending your edits about the military uniform. You might want to read the talk page and help us understand the military uniform issue. Saludos, Sandy 21:18, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Can you have a look?

I notice that the measures to keep certain facts out of the Chavez articles have become extreme: maybe the Left is starting to get nervous about their hero :-)

Can you have a look at this - it needs your expertise: [1]. Thanks ! Sandy 15:12, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism of Hugo Chávez

Have you seen what is going on ? Sandy 00:18, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cecilia Sosa

Epa, Caracas, we need a source for the Cecilia Sosa info at Venezuelan presidential election, 2006. Regards, Sandy 17:56, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] United States-Venezuela relations and Venezuelan-Israeli relations

You may be interested in United States-Venezuela relations and Venezuelan-Israeli relations. The US-V relations article is in a very poor and largely neglected state. Respectfully, Republitarian 14:52, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I see that you are a Venezuelan Wikipedian. You may be interested in voting on whether or not to merge Israel-Venezuela relations into Foreign policy of Hugo Chávez#Israel. There are currently 10 oppose votes and 5 support votes, and I'm urging users to oppose the merge. You can vote at Talk:Israel-Venezuela relations#Merge Proposal. [edit] El Nacional endorsements

CCS, do you have the title of the article from El Nacional with the Rosales endorsements? Sandy 22:55, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Never mind: JRSP had a CNE source, so I don't need it. Thanks! Sandy 23:25, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Soy nuevo aqui y me encantan tus contribuciones pana. Cuenta conmigo. No hago esto mucho en lo de la politica pero me fascina la historia biografica de venezolanos. Pienso meterme en esto bastante. saludos! Simon.

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Carlos Cruz Diez.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. [edit] Revolution televised

Caracas, I'm just trying to keep the edits cleaned up. I have no idea how much of the content written there is pure garbage, don't waste my time watching propoganda, and know that Flanker often has a unique view of things. My edits are only an attempt to keep the article cleaned up grammatically and in terms of Wikification. Sandy 20:40, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Golfer infobox

Hello! Thank you for adding the golfer infobox I created to John Daly, Hale Irwin, and Severiano Ballesteros. Keep in mind that the "Major Championships results" section has been renamed to "Best Results in Major Championships" meaning that the player's best performance in each major should be added. For example, see Tom Watson. In addition, I am keeping a log of all pages which use this infobox, so please add the ones you create to the section on my user page. Thank you, and keep it up. Thanks for uploading Image:Revolution will not be Televised (doc)33m13s.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Hugo Chávez (1992 Coup Surrender).jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hugo Chávez (1992 Coup Surrender).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 23:59, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your effort to provide a fair use rationale. Please note there certain necessary components in a fair use rationale. Maybe this template {{non-free media rationale}} can be helpful to you. – Ilse@ 09:44, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Gaby_Espino.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Gaby_Espino.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:32, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] St. Maurice

Hi.. I see that you've been fighting POV driven vandalism on the page dealing with St. Maurice, and I was wondering if you can keep an eye on it and revert what you can clearly be seen as such. There is no reason to be reverting to some late rendition and 1 or 2 people are still trying to revert the page, one of them I suspect of wikistalking. Namely the user Egyegy. It is sickening to me that people resort to this and I was hoping that someone else aside from myself can keep a periodic eye on it. Thanx.Taharqa 03:18, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, well I put it up for speedy deletion.. Glad you noticed that..Taharqa 19:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Antoni Maria Claret

Hello, his birth name is in catalan language: Antoni Maria Claret. As the article says he wrote in catalan language basically. But in some books translated the name into spanish because during the Franco's dictatorship the catalan language was banned. But his birth name is in catalan language: Antoni Maria Claret. --Saltamarges 21:32, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

So it's less justified to translate a catalan name to spanish name in the english wikipedia. --Saltamarges 21:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem, but your behaviour is incoherent and insane.
For you it's perfect if the article is INCORRECTLY in spanish but you have problems if it is in catalan language, and then it must be translated to english.
What's up with you and the catalan language ? Have you problems ? --Saltamarges 22:02, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:40, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Teresa de la Parra.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Teresa de la Parra.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:51, 19 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Evil Spartan (talk) 19:51, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Acción Democrática.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Acción Democrática.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Revolution will not be Televised (doc)33m13s.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Revolution will not be Televised (doc)33m13s.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
