At least as important as Cartan subalgebra. Need more on conjugacy classes and high-level explanations of the significance. Arcfrk 05:47, 24 May 2007 (UTC) I think it can be generalized to non-semisimple case, as in Cartan subalgebra. Then it would become maximal nilpotent subgroup which is self-normalizing, i.e. a normal-subgroup of itself only.
