"And in The Fifth Elephant, when faced with the defection of most members of the Watch, Carrot puts his royal sword on a desk in plain sight and reminds Watch members that they had taken an oath to the King, and that the King had not relieved them of it."
I have recently read The Fifth Elephant, the earlier section twice now where Carrot resigns from the Watch and this event did not happen. The Watch fell apart after Carrot left Anhk-Morpork. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.123.91 (talk) 22:45, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't remember this either, but I've just checked and it is, indeed, there, when Carrot gets back to Ankh-Morpork ahead of Vimes. It's actually on the penultimate page of my copy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.13.212.79 (talk) 18:47, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
