[edit] Some suggestions
Keeping the precedent of other artists in mind, it would be best if Carrie Underwood's discography and awards were moved to their own articles rather than left to clutter the mother article.UberCryxic 23:25, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Ok I've gone ahead and created separate articles for the discography and the awards. It's really brought down the length of the article.UberCryxic 03:51, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
i think it was better when it was all on one page especially the discography the awrds could go on a seperate thing but i think having her discography on the one page is best
can we get some information on her second album put up
I think the introduction is heavily dedicated to album sales and stuff like that - there should be some other information on her in the introduction, not just album sales. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zone (talk • contribs) 15:42, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- This article is incredibly biased, it reads more like a fan's personal essay than encyclopedia page on Carrie Underwood. The article has several small words that set an unnecesarry tone for the page and apparantly argue some points. Eatspie (talk) 20:17, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 2nd Album
It's confirmed to be coming out October 23. Let's get that up. It should have the first single coming out in the next 3 weeks. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.31.150.27 (talk)
- We can't put anything about the second album in unless we have reliable sources. Do you have any sources to validate the existence of the second album? Acalamari 03:19, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Does anyone have any sources for her second album? The only text that's being added is that the album's release date is October 23rd, but that the title is unconfirmed. Also, "rumored tracks" were added, which I had to remove. Acalamari 17:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sources are everywhere. Type Carrie Underwood on Google and it's the top article.
- Here's a link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19811621 . The only information revealed about the album is the release date. --JYi 20:39, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've re-added the information, along with the source. Acalamari 20:43, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Where is the source for the title? The previous source was put in the wrong spot. All the source said was that Carrie is planning to release the album on the 23rd of October. Omghgomg 06:01, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- There isn't a source for it at the moment, and one is needed. Otherwise, the information about the title will get removed. Acalamari 15:43, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- I'm going to remove it now until there is a reliable source. Omghgomg 07:54, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Can we have semi-protection on this article? Constantly, people have been editing the article by claiming that Carrie's next album is Carnival Ride. This, as of now, is still UNSOURCED. I don't want to constanty revert back to the original form. Omghgomg 11:37, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I looked through the recent history of this article, and at the moment, there is not enough disruptive activity to semi-protect the page; if this page was requested for semi-protection at RFPP, it would be declined. However, if the rate of additions of unsourced information increases, then it'll need protecting. For now, we can just revert. Acalamari 16:12, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Possible source: http://www.jrecords.com, at the search box on top, type in "Carrie Underwood", and Carnival Ride is listed under Some Hearts at the bottom. I don't know if this qualifies as a source though. JYi 00:02, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Is there a better source than that one? I couldn't access the page, as it required a certain piece of software. That source may cause problems for some users when they visit it. Acalamari 20:58, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, it seems that someone has now found a better source for the information. Acalamari 16:07, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Page for awards
If you read the article, you can see that Carrie Underwood's awards and nominations keeps piling up and up. Hence, I'm planning to be bold and make a new article dedicated to her awards and nominations. I'll wait and see if anyone has any objections to that. Omghgomg 11:08, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually didn't see that there is already an article. I'll expand on it. Omghgomg 11:24, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The following information
Hi, I just noticed the following information in the article (but it's not showing up in 'Edit'....) Thought it might need removing.
Who's Better? - The talented country singer gave praise to Clarkson during a Grammy Party in 2006 where she said that she has made a lead and Underwood stated and wished that herself would be able to be in her shoes(Clarkson's Success). Underwood has paid through it all and made sexy slithering singles, music videos and dazzling performances that are vibrantly beautiful. Her success may have been stated as better than Clarkson's, but many disagree and prefers the beautiful competitor idol rock chick. Many fans build up rivalries and problems up to their success, but Clarkson is noted to be the most successful with chart topping singles through many different genres. Underwood has a way different sound vocally and her voice is not mature enough for songs that are more in the 'pop' style. Clarkson on the other side is very mature for any type of music/genres making her a more talented one. As Simon Cowell have said on American Idol that Clarkson is the best by a Mile from all of the other winners of American Idol. So Some Hearts is a very successful album for Carrie, but it doesn't make her any better than Clarkson's sexy and rocking vocals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.132.50.8 (talk) 17:52, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for noticing it. Don't worry, it's already been removed. :) Acalamari 17:59, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Miscellaneous edits
First paragraph.
The words TV show should be added after "American Idol." Not everyone knows that American Idol is a show on American TV.
Personal life.
Last paragraph. There is a link to "New York City restaurant" that is not a proper link. It is a direct link to Carrie Underwoods professional website. The link should be removed.
I tried to edit this and my edits were rejected as not contributing anything worthwile. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.110.139.30 (talk) 18:21, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wrong. The words "TV show" are redundant, as anyone who has the means and capability of finding WP will know that AI is a TV show. It simply creates redundancy. K. Scott Bailey 18:32, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- As for the link, it goes to the fansite, and basically serves as confirmation of the statement being made in the sentence. K. Scott Bailey 18:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] So Small
"So Small" is now confirmed by a lot of people including Hit Predictor's site that it is number 1, so why is it important that there should be a link to a number-one song? BravesFan2006 18:43, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Picture
Do you think that it is possible to get a new picture on this page. The picture of her singing with the big spotlight behind her is not a very good one. Shawn W (talk) 03:57, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- If you can find a better free image than the one we have, then it can be replaced. Until then, the image we have of Carrie Underwood at the moment is the best, as it's free. Acalamari 17:10, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've noticed that Song BMG artists' websites usually have Wikipedia links. I think someone needs to tell them to start contributing and stop just leeching off our work. ;-)
- Seriously, though, I think the current photo is not bad, given the photos for a lot of other people, but I wonder if Song BMG may be open to some free (speech not beer) publicity. Kelvinc (talk) 05:35, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- A picture of Carrie Underwood taken on USO Tour in Iraq that is a federal work is now going to be the picture used. It is free because it is a work of the United States Army. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 20:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
january 22nd this new picture is'nt that great the old one should go back up —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.139.92.58 (talk) 17:04, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
-
- The new picture, however, is unquestionably free use, and because it is a work of the United States Army, personality rights cannot be claimed on a work that was never copyrighted or eligible for it. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 03:37, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, the previous image is in the article, just not in the infobox. Acalamari 18:20, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Personal Life
I think something should be changed with that... I don't think that Tony Romo would be cheating on her... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.6.125.46 (talk) 08:01, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Carrie has said about a million times this year that she is is not dating anyone.
[edit] Pre-Idol Albums
Why is there no info here about the 3 albums she released between 1996 and 2001?
- Good question-xC- 22:13, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Comments She released three albums before Idol? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.166.181.251 (talk) 18:12, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Grand Ole Opry
I have removed the category "Grand Ole Opry member" twice now. Just because someone was invited to become a member of the Opry that alone doesn't make them a member. The Opry does not consider someone a member until thier induction, even if they have been invited to become a member. Carrie Underwood is not listed as a member on the Opry website and will not be considered a member of the Opry until May 10. Please do not jump the gun and list her in the members category until then (Wikipedia is not a crystal ball). Dblevins2 (talk) 02:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vegetarian
Although she did become a vegetarian it wasnt for sure all 13. She mentioned gave up beef at about 10 to 13 and then gave up meat from pigs and eventually gave up all meat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.141.255.150 (talk) 02:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
This is from CMT 20 questions with Carrie Underwood.
16. When did you become a vegetarian?
I quit eating beef when I was somewhere between 10 and 13 because we do have cows and I did bottle feed them and stuff like that. They were like my pets. I had an incident one day that made me refuse to eat beef ever, ever again. Later on, my neighbor had pigs, and I thought they were cute, and it just kind of went on and on from there. I phased it out over a period of time. My parents were actually banding calves. I don't know if you know what that means. I'm not going to explain it to you. ... Basically, it was to make them grow bigger so people could eat them, and they were so cute, and it just made me sad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.141.255.150 (talk) 02:30, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Where was she really born?
I do not know enough about Miss. Underwood, but the article lists her as having been born in "Checotah, Oklahoma" in the first sentence of the article, but "Muskogee, Oklahoma" in the "Early Life" section. Would someone who knows this fact just clarify it when time permits (Nicolaususry (talk) 00:14, 18 May 2008 (UTC))
