The current article indicates the race was discontinued in 1950, however it had been restarted in about 1994 and continues to be held annually.

I've updated the article comprehensively using the official site, reference books and a copy of 'evo' magazine. If anyone can confirm the start and end points of the original race please add these, not speaking Spanish hinders me as the English version of the site seems less comprehensive.
