There should be a seperate article for pistil. Although pistil is mentioned in this article, there is no part explaining what exactly a pistil is.

[edit] Pollen-presenter

Can someone with a better grasp of the terminology and structure of this article add some information about "pollen-presenters"? In some plants, notably Proteaceae, the style-end is very large but the stigma is very small and pushed to the apex, the remainder of the style-end serving to present the flower's pollen to the pollinator, having been in contact with the anthers prior to anthesis. [edit] Labels

Could someone with knowledge label the picture of the squash flower? I'm unsure where the ovules and ovaries are, and not good at editing images yet. Skittle 11:35, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Plurals

Once again, someone pleas for someone else with botanic expertise. I've heard elsewhere that the plural of "stigma" is "stigmata" and have also read from multiple sources online that the plural of "stamen" is "stamina". Could anyone clarify these plurals? S2tephen 12:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

  • The plural of stigma is indeed stigmata.EvilOverlordX 15:10, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
