[edit] Pennies on Drop Zone
several years ago i was in line for the drop zone and i have always heard you can put a coin in this case a Penny on your knee and it would stay and leave a imprint there on the way down. it was our turn and there was like 20 Penny's on the ground i picket one up and placed it on my knee we went up and came down and the coin did not stay it hit the ground in front of this black lady she ask me if it was me that had it i said yes and she did not let us out of the ride (i was like 12 at the time) and she called security after like 15 minutes two guys came and took us to the front office and made me leave. just because of a penny she said it hit her but it did not she also said she heard me talking about putting it on my knee. but why did she not say something then? i am just saying we went back a month ago and most of the people working there are rude and lazy.
- I never heard it would leave an imprint, but I did hear it would possibly float in the air for a while if you held it in your hand. --TinMan 04:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I actually worked at the drop zone a few years ago. Guests are clearly instructed not to drop anything from the ride. Dropping pennies may not seem like a big deal, but they can, and do, get stuck in the electromagnetic brakes. This causes a loud noise that unnerves guests and it is a real pain for maintenance to shut down the ride in the middle of the day to fix this. And yes, most of the people who work there are rude and lazy. Carowinds only pays 6 bucks an hour, so people end up working twelve hour days in 95 degree heat to make any real money. Guest tend to expect staff to wait on them hand and foot, which they should. After all, you paid almost 50 dollars just to get in. That isnt an excuse for being rude, but Carowinds could do something about it if they wanted to. If you ever have a run in with security just be pleasant and ask to speak to a manager. Managers will usually take the guests side over their own employees, especially if you are a season pass holder.
[edit] Name change to remove "Paromount" name
Cedar Fair is phasing out the "Paramount" name in the park's title. It has been removed from the official logo and signs with Paramount still on them are being replaced. I think now, due to recent events, the article should reflect the park's name change to just "Carowinds". I don't expect much criticism with this, but I decided to go with procedure here instead of just renaming it without other input. --TinMan 06:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone have any information on Hanna Barbera land? I know there was a Scooby Doo ride and some Flintstones props, but nothing on the page.
