[edit] Improvement

I am new to Wikipedia and welcome help in improving the entry I created for Carousel Theatre. What can I do to improve the article? Carole Higgins (talk) 03:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Mkdw's comments below are excellent - photos are great. :) As suggested, though, make sure you have the rights to them. Aside from that, it seems that the theater has a good history - a well sourced section on the history of the theater wouldn't go amiss, as would a list of notable productions. - Bilby (talk) 07:46, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
    • A section on awards that members and productions have won in the past would be good too. Even just a bullet list by year. DigitalC (talk) 07:51, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mavor Moore

"His musical A Christmas Carol (1988, book, lyrics, and music by Moore based on the work by Charles Dickens) was first produced at the Carousel Theatre, Vancouver, in 1988 and subsequently performed at the Neptune Theatre, Halifax, in 1989;" This to me reads that the play was first performed at the Carousel, but doesn't imply that Mavor worked for the Carousel, yet that is what the WP article states. Am I reading the source wrong? DigitalC (talk) 05:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Good point. Mavor Moore's production premiered at Carousel Theatre, and as a playwright he participated in the first several productions at Carousel, refining his script, participating in casting, etc. I have edited the entry to clarify Mr. Moore's involvement with the company.Carole Higgins (talk) 01:38, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank Carole, that clears that one up. On to the next one! "At present he is writing a stage adaptation of Pierre Berton’s children’s classic “The Secret World of Og” for Vancouver’s Carousel Theatre." (Kevin Kerr). This is what the reference says, which again doesn't state that he has worked there. Do we have an alternate reference? DigitalC (talk) 04:41, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out. I have made a small edit that I am hopeful clarifies Kevin Kerr's involvement. CheersCarole Higgins (talk) 22:41, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

Hi Carole. Photos are fairly important to encyclopedic articles. There are very few large articles that do not have any images. You will have or will be able to easily ask for the rights to various publicity photos. You can upload those photos to Wikipedia and put them in the article. You may consider the Carousel logo, a picture of the office, perhaps some promo photos or even photos of the shows. Mkdwtalk 07:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
